Transitional Elegance in Crestmoor Park

This custom home allowed HQA the chance to work closely with a family, designing for them a beautiful transitional house in the established Crestmoor neighborhood.

Reflecting their life and design style, this home finds balance between the strong lines of classical formality and the clean, open spaces of contemporary life. A spatious light-filled Living Room and arch-laden Dining Room greet the visitor on either side of the Entry Foyer. Hardwood floors, high ceilings, southern-facing windows and views of the beautiful back yard pull one through from the formal rooms near the entry to the informal open space of the Kitchen and Great Room. From behind the oversized Kitchen Island, one has an immediate connection to the Great Room, anchored by a large fireplace, and the outdoor living space through French doors and banks of windows along the Great Room and Breakfast Nook. Convenience equals views: with a Butler's Pantry, Walk-In Pantry and Mud Room directly adjacent, the family is never at a lack for storage.

Past the Kitchen and also opening onto the outdoor living space is perhaps this home's most special space: the Orangerie. A space of glass walls and glass ceiling, the Orangerie at once heralds back to a bygone age of architectural detail, and provides the homeowners a peaceful space for their gardening pursuits year round.

With expansive suites, a home office and Family Room, the basement and second floors compliment the first by allowing for everyone to have their own space for private retreat and space to join together again as a family or to entertain.

With special thanks to our favorite photographer Jenn Cohen from Jenn Cohen Photography.
