HQ Architects is a boutique firm of two, established in 2010. As a client, you will have two knowledgeable, licensed architects intimately working on every stage of your home design. From schematic design to permit review with the City to construction, we pride ourselves on our strong communication skills with our clients and their team.

We love design, but moreover, we love designing with our clients, helping them realize their dreams, whether they be an expansion for a growing family, a remodel for empty nesters, or a new build for someone looking to invest. From the contemporary and new to Landmark Historic, we’re here to help!

Meet the Team

Architect Alison Hagan, AIA

  • Architect, LEED AP, Certificate in Historic Preservation, Crestmoor Park HOA Review Architect

After traveling across four continents, working through three and studying in two, Alison earned her Masters in Architecture from the University of Colorado, Denver, and became a licensed architect shortly after. Alison has effectively managed projects from pre-design through construction management for multiple clients ranging from small renovations to large new construction master planning. In addition to residential architecture, she has gained considerable experience in commercial work, including community centers, schools, hospitals, federal office spaces, airports, laboratories, and the National Park Services. These jobs have provided her with an ideal training ground for leading coordinated efforts of large consultant teams, collaborating with contractors within truncated schedules and budgets, broadening her knowledge base of standard and green construction methods and architectural practices.

  • Architect, LEED-AP, Certificate in Design-Build, President of the Country Club Historic Neighborhood (CCHN), Chair of the Architecture Review Board for CCHN, Crestmoor Park HOA Review Architect

Anne earned her undergraduate degree in business from the University of Notre Dame. She worked for Deloitte Consulting and honed her business skills as an IT systems analyst and consultant in Chicago. After several years in the consulting world, she changed direction and pursued a more creative career in architecture. Starting off in the model building room of a large architecture firm in Philadelphia gave her a challenging and rewarding introduction to the field. She earned her Masters in Architecture with a certificate in Design-Build from the University of Colorado. Participating in the acclaimed GHOST X, design-build workshop, with MacKay-Lyons Sweetapple in Nova Scotia, she combined her love of traveling with architecture. The satisfying combination was also achieved while studying in Rome with her masters program and previously studying and traveling around the world on Semester at Sea during her undergraduate education.

Anne worked for many years in a small Denver Architectural firm excelling in both residential and commercial architecture. Anne is experienced in all architectural phases: pre-design to construction administration of both commercial and residential projects. Her participation on commercial projects ranges from the Ritz Carlton-Denver to a Westminster park shelter and the Arapahoe County Offices. Residential projects include a Highlands duplex, mountain home and historic preservation of a Denver Landmark Home. The small office atmosphere allowed her to work on all aspects of an architecture firm: business development, historic preservation application and approval, permitting, interiors, drafting and 3D computer modeling.
