Ivy Street Remodel in Denver’s Crestmoor Park

On a quiet street in the established Crestmoor neighborhood sits a beautiful 1940s home where its long standing care is evident in its beautifully maintained wood mosaic floors, well appointed living room and gracious stair. The only thing this lovely relic of early Denver suburbia needed was a few thoughtful updates to provide its family with the comforts of modern life and better tie it into its lavish back yard. The original sun room, nicknamed the ‘Cold Dark Room’ and now the Family Room has been refurbished to be insulated, and the wall between it and the kitchen was knocked down as part of the Kitchen’s overhaul. To enhance the existing character, special care was paid in how the kitchen connected with the historic dining room, respecting its existing symmetry and continuing its trim work. Supplementing the kitchen is an enclosed walk-in pantry that continues the rich cabinet tones and tasteful light fixtures. Strengthening the indoor-outdoor connection, the kitchen windows slide open to directly service the outdoor dining, and the new Family Room has brand new French doors opening directly into the outdoor living space. With beautiful and functional powder and Mud Room, the home’s new spaces offer as much in the way of easy living as enhanced charm.

Special thanks to James Armatas from Town & Country Custom Homes and our favorite photographer Jenn Cohen from Jenn Cohen Photography.
